Side Table Painted in Provence Blue with White Glaze

Provence blue chalk paint.

Today's project is a do-over. I picked up the side table at an auction a while back, painted it black and added a French stencil to the top. There was a lot of interest but no buyer.

I decided to add the stencil again to the top.  I used Old White over the same color on the table top for a subtle effect. The additional layer of paint creates a slightly raised finish.

I dry brushed Provence over the stencil to help coordinate it with the base color.

I sealed the new paint with soft clear wax. To add just a bit more dimension to the color I applied a white glaze. I used a sponge brush to apply the glaze and then wiped off the excess with a shop towel.
